Gordon has a bachelor's degree in English Literature, and a master's degree in Political Science. He is TESOL certified.

He has 7 years of experience in various roles in education. He has worked as a teacher with The Princeton Review and as a graduate teaching assistant at his university. He also has two years of experience working at a hagwon (학원) in Jinju (진주), South Korea.

Gordon has experience with curriculum development, business English, adult education, and with tutoring students from 4 to 45 years old.
